Today’s fourth generation of superalloys can withstand temperatures well over 2000° F, and feature chemically engineered grain structures for increased hardness. Superalloys are precipitation strengthened to remove crystal impurities, further enhancing mechanical properties by removing stress anomalies. While superalloy mechanical properties vary by grade and type, common characteristics include high levels of heat resistance, abrasion resistance, anti-oxidation, and corrosion resistance.
The hardness of superalloys make them difficult to machine. Our Netshape, as-cast parts reduce or eliminate the majority of costly machining, while still maintaining precision tolerances within +/- .005 inches per linear inch.

Casting superalloys is a somewhat delicate process that requires constant monitoring, and is highly susceptible to cracking when performed by untrained foundries.
